Sarah Opitz-Stapleton, PhD

Sarah is the President of Staplets Consulting, a partner of Adaptive Resources Management. She is an information broker, bridging scientific and policy disciplines, while merging her experience as a climate scientist with that of conducting social vulnerability and risk assessments in disaster risk reduction and climate resilience contexts at a variety of scales.

Sarah has worked for more than a decade at the intersection of water resource management, disaster risk reduction, climate resilience and political ecology to support community-based to provincial-level programmes in South and Southeast Asia, China, Latin America, and Ethiopia, for both governmental and non-governmental organizations. She has collaborated with Stephen and Kari on projects in Canada and on ISET’s climate resilience training modules. Sarah received an M.S. in Water Resources Engineering and a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
